TJQMBB represents a substantive enhancement of traditional Tai Ji Quan as it transforms martial arts movements into a therapeutic regimen aimed at improving postural stability, awareness and mindful control of body positioning, functional walking, movement symmetry and coordination, range of motion around the ankle and hip joints and lower - extremity muscle strength.

This class is for anyone who would like to improve their balance, strength and coordination. No prior knowledge or experience in Tai Ji is needed. Classes are done from seated and standing and do not require getting up and down from the floor. Please wear comfortable clothing Wear shoes that are well-fitting and comfortable (not flip flops or heels). Bring a water bottle (optional). A chair without wheels is needed. (ie. - a folding chair) Suggested class cost is $5/person per class. (24 classes per session.) Participants can pay what they are able. Those who have MSHO insurance (Minnesota Senior Health Options health plan) do not make any donation. About the instructor: Jessica Karpinske is the owner of Rooted In Wellness LLC in the Duluth area. She works with individuals and small groups, providing health coaching and personal training sessions, private and group yoga classes with an overall focus on feeling good in your skin, and improving health and wellness at the root level. Jessica loves working with clients to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle that provides a foundation for a long life free of dis-ease. She has been teaching this Tai Ji program since 2016 and maintains a consistent group of advanced Tai Ji participants. She also enjoys leading new classes and introducing people to this practice.
