The Diabetes Prevention Program is for people who want to avoid type 2 diabetes. It uses a curriculum developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and cuts your risk of developing type 2 diabetes in half. The program helps you make lasting changes, such as eating healthier, adding physical activity into your daily routine, and reducing stress.
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) classes are typically covered by insurance and are provided at no cost. However, individuals lacking insurance coverage are required to pay a nominal fee of $50 to cover material expenses. It is important to note that some insurance plans may not include coverage for DPP classes. Our team is dedicated to aiding participants in navigating their insurance coverage and comprehending the benefits associated with these classes.
An in-person information session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, at 5:00 pm at the Maplewood YMCA Community Center, Room A. Additionally, online sessions will be conducted on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:00 pm.
